Find your way around the Tonet dashboard
What every part of the Tonet dashboard does: the left menu, Phones and Team lists, the top bar, Report an issue, dark mode, and the layout on a laptop or phone.
The dashboard at dashboard.tonet.ai is where you make calls, read texts and run your phone system. The start page lists what's in the left menu. This page explains everything around it.
Phones and Team
Under the menu, Phones lists every number on the account, and Team lists everyone on it. You're at the top of Team, marked (you). Below you: who's available, then on a call or busy, then away, then offline.
The + buttons sit beside each heading. The others show when you hover over a row.
| Button | What it does | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Add Phone (+ beside Phones) | Opens the form to buy a number | Owners and managers |
| Edit Phone (pencil) | Opens the number's Route & settings | Owners and managers |
| View Timeline | Opens the number's Activity: its calls and texts | Everyone |
| Add User (+ beside Team) | Opens the form to add a person | Owners and managers |
| Call … (phone) | Calls that teammate's extension from the dashboard | Everyone |
| Message … | Opens a team chat with them. On your own row it's Notes to yourself. | Everyone |
With no numbers yet, or nobody else on the team, owners and managers see a + under the heading to add the first one.
Click a person's picture or name for their card: their extension, status, the numbers they can use, and Call and Message. Owners, managers and admins also see their role, email, teams, last call and this week's calls, with Open page. Owners and managers also see what they've cost this month.
The dot on each picture is that person's status:
| Dot | Status |
|---|---|
| Green, with a tick | Available |
| Yellow, with a clock | Away |
| Red, with a line | Busy |
| Red, with a phone | On a call |
| Grey, with an × | Offline |
Click Phones or Team to fold the list away, and again to open it. Drag the bar between two sections to give one more room. This browser remembers both.
The bottom of the left menu
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Report an issue | Opens a form to tell us about a problem. See below. |
| Moon or sun | Switches to Dark mode or Light mode. Tonet starts light, and this browser remembers your choice. |
On a phone, both are at the bottom of More.
Report an issue asks:
| In the form | What to put |
|---|---|
| Where did it happen? | Dashboard in a browser, Desktop app, iPhone app, Android app or Desk phone |
| Version | Filled in for you. Click Change if it happened somewhere else. |
| Your email | Where we reply |
| When | Just now to start. Change it if it was earlier. |
| What happened? | What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead |
| Screenshot or recording | Optional. Drop, paste or choose an image or video, up to 8 MB. |
| Include technical details | Ticked to start. Sends the app and dashboard version, your system, recent errors on the page and your account. No call audio or messages. |
Click Send report. You get a report number, and we reply by email. Reports that help us fix a real problem may earn a bonus.
The top bar
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Menu button (☰), top left | Shrinks the left menu to icons, or opens it out again. This browser remembers it. |
| ‹ and › | Back and Forward. Only in the desktop app; in a browser, use the browser's own. |
| Clock | Your account's time. Owners and managers can click it to change the time zone. |
| A meeting | A meeting you're in, or one starting within 15 minutes, with Join, Back or Open. See Meetings. |
| Call tabs | Calls you set aside with ‹ Dashboard while you use the rest of Tonet. See the live call view. |
| Dialpad icon | Opens the phone. See Make and take calls. A red line across it means your phone isn't connected. |
| Line status | Shows only when this tab isn't ringing: Phone is on in another tab, Phone moved to … or Not ringing here · your line is full. See If calls ring in another tab. |
| Signal bars | Your connection to Tonet. Click it to run a network test. |
| Bell | Missed calls, voicemails and messages from the last 7 days |
| Question-mark speech bubble (Contact Support) | Opens How can we help?: Ask Tonet, email support, or these docs |
| ✦ | Ask Tonet's replies. Shows on the Messages page, and when you have unread replies |
| Balance | Opens Billing. Owners and managers only. |
| More controls (⋯) | On a smaller screen: the clock, your balance and Contact support. See below. |
| Your picture | Your status, Profile, Usage Data, Billing (owners and managers), Refer & earn, Enable click to call, and Logout |
When we update Tonet, a line above the page says A new version of Tonet is ready. Click Reload. If you don't, the tab reloads by itself the next time you come back to it, unless you're in the middle of something.
On a laptop or a phone
On a smaller screen, like a laptop, the clock, Contact Support and your balance move into More controls (⋯) in the top bar. It holds Account time, Balance (owners and managers) and Contact support.
In a phone's browser, or a very narrow window, the left menu becomes a tab bar at the bottom: Overview, Calls, Messages, Contacts and More.
- More opens everything else: Account time, Balance (owners and managers), Contact support, the rest of the menu, Phones, Team, Report an issue, and light or dark mode.
- The Tonet logo at the top left takes you to Overview.
- The tab bar hides inside a conversation and in a meeting.
In a phone's browser, calls ring only while the Tonet tab is open. To get calls with the app closed or the phone locked, use the phone app.
