Move your number from Comcast Business to Tonet
Port out of Comcast Business: find your account number and Business Voice Security PIN, turn off Number Lock on mobile lines, and move to Tonet.
To move a Comcast Business number to Tonet, you need your Comcast Business account number and your account PIN. For a Business Voice line, the account PIN is the Voice Security PIN. For a Comcast Business Mobile line, it's the mobile security PIN. Then fill in Manage › Phones › Port a Number in Tonet. Keep your Comcast Business service active until the number has moved.
What you need from Comcast Business
| You need | Where to find it |
|---|---|
| Account number | At the top-right corner of your Comcast Business bill. It's also in the welcome email Comcast sent after your installation. |
| Account PIN | Business Voice: see Find your Business Voice Security PIN. Comcast Business Mobile: see Comcast Business Mobile lines. |
| Account holder's name and address | Your latest Comcast Business bill. Copy them exactly as Comcast has them. |
| Your latest bill | It must show the numbers you're moving. You attach it in Tonet. |
Business Voice lines and mobile lines
| Business Voice line | Comcast Business Mobile line | |
|---|---|---|

| Where to get it | My Account or the Comcast Business app. Only the account's Primary Manager can see it. | My Account, under Comcast Business Mobile |

Find your Business Voice Security PIN
Comcast gives every Business Voice, VoiceEdge Select, Business VoiceEdge and trunking account one account-level Security PIN. Only the Primary Manager can view or change it.
- My Account: on the Phone page, expand the Account menu, select Manager Settings, then View Voice Security PIN.
- Comcast Business app: on the Phone page, select CPNI Security Settings, then Show.
Good to know:
- Comcast mails the PIN to the billing address after installation.
- Lost it? Sign in to My Account, go to Account Details, select the Security PIN link, then Resend Security PIN. Comcast emails it if the account and the Primary Manager's email address are more than 30 days old. Otherwise it goes by post, so ask early.
- Trouble with the PIN? Comcast's Security PIN line is (800) 741-4141.
Comcast doesn't publish port-out steps for Business Voice lines. A Comcast employee on its business support forum says you need your account number and account PIN. If you're not sure which PIN to give, ask Comcast Business.
Comcast Business Mobile lines
Get the security PIN in Comcast Business My Account:
- Select Comcast Business Mobile. If asked, choose the service location.
- Select Devices, then the device with the number you're moving.
- Next to Transfer your number, cancel this line, select Learn More and follow the steps to get the PIN by text.
Good to know:
- The same security PIN works for every line on the account.
- When the number is active with Tonet, Comcast cancels that mobile line automatically. You don't need to call to cancel it.
- Still paying off the phone? You can keep paying monthly if you keep another Comcast Business service: Internet, TV or Voice. If you cancel them all, the rest of the device balance is due on your final mobile bill.
Turn off Number Lock on mobile lines
Number Lock is free. While it's on, a Comcast Business Mobile number can't move to another provider. Turn it off for each line you're moving:
- Sign in to My Account.
- Under Subscribed Services, select Comcast Business Mobile. If asked, choose the service location.
- Go to Devices and click Turn off Number Lock.
Comcast emails you when it's off.
Does Comcast Business charge to port out?
Comcast Business's help pages don't list a port-out fee. If you end a service before its term is up, Comcast's business terms charge termination charges. Check your service order, or ask Comcast Business, before you cancel anything.
Keep your Comcast Business service active until the port finishes
- Don't cancel your Business Voice service. A disconnected number has to be turned back on before it can move.
- Once your Business Voice number works in Tonet, contact Comcast Business about ending the voice service.
- Mobile lines end by themselves when the number is active with Tonet.
Move the number to Tonet
Owners, managers and administrators can start a port.
- Get your account PIN. For mobile lines, turn off Number Lock.
- In Tonet, go to Manage › Phones and open the Port a Number tab.

Moving Business Voice numbers and mobile lines together? Put one PIN in Account PIN / passcode, then list the other PIN, and the numbers it's for, under Additional information.
Put every Comcast Business number you're moving in one request. Tonet handles one port request at a time. Once it's approved, click Port another number to start the next.
Not ready? Click Save draft and come back later.
After you submit
The Port a Number tab shows where your request is:
Ringing on Tonet. Calls to your number ring in Tonet: browser, apps and desk phones.
You: Call your number to check it rings in Tonet. Only then close anything left with your old carrier.
| Status | What it means |
|---|---|
| Submitted | Tonet has your request and checks it before filing it with the carrier. |
| In progress | Your request is being processed. Most ports complete in 7 to 10 business days. |
| More information needed | Read the message under Messages, type your answer in Your reply, attach a file if asked, and click Send reply. The request goes back to In progress. |
| Approved | The numbers appear under My Phone Numbers once the transfer completes. |
| Not approved | Read the Reason for rejection, fix it, and click Edit and resubmit. |
Tonet emails the address in E-mail address when it receives your request (with a copy of the letter you signed), when it needs something from you, and when the request is approved or not approved.
Your number keeps working with Comcast Business until the switch. The date can't be guaranteed.
When the number appears under My Phone Numbers, choose where its calls go and who can use it. To text from it, register it for texting.
Why Comcast Business ports get rejected
| Reason | How to fix it |
|---|---|
| Number Lock is on | Turn it off for each mobile line, then resubmit. |
| Wrong PIN | Business Voice lines need the Voice Security PIN. Mobile lines need the mobile security PIN. Send Tonet the right one. |
| The service was cancelled or the number disconnected | Ask Comcast Business to turn the number back on, then resubmit. |
| Name, address or account number doesn't match | Copy them from your latest bill. The account number is at the top right. Or ask Comcast Business for your Customer Service Record (CSR). |
To send a new PIN: if the request shows More information needed, send it under Messages. If it shows Not approved, click Edit and resubmit. Otherwise, email support@tonet.ai.
